Blender 5.2 adds a new Scene Project Brush to Sculpt Mode.

This brush moves the vertices of the object you are sculpting toward the surface of another object in the scene. As you brush over the mesh, the shape of nearby objects is reflected on the sculpted surface in real time.

Project Another Object’s Shape onto the Sculpt

Traditional sculpt brushes mainly push, pull, or carve a surface using the brush shape and strength.

The Scene Project Brush works differently because it uses an actual object placed nearby as the reference shape, rather than relying only on the brush itself.

For example, place a star, text, or decorative model above the sculpt object, then brush over the surface. The mesh will deform to follow the surface of that reference object.

Check the Result While Brushing

As the brush stroke passes over the mesh, the geometry is projected onto the surface of another object. This lets you check the result in real time and deform only the areas you need.

It can be used for more than simply stamping a shape.

How Is It Different from Existing Brushes?

Traditional Sculpt Brushes

They directly deform the surface based on brush strength, direction, and alpha textures.
